Choose from a variety of plant species including native flowers, ferns, forbs and grasses. As you shop, learn about eco-friendly practices to benefit your home, wallet and community. Experts will be available at the sale to answer questions.
Inventory is limited and first-come, first-serve. The best plant selection will be on Saturday. Plants are not restocked overnight. We encourage shoppers to bring boxes to transport plants home.
Plants are provided by Possibility Place Nursery. Admission to Independence Grove is free for all Native Plant Sale customers. Plant prices vary.
The Native Plant Sale is an annual fundraiser benefiting our environmental education programs and events. Thank you for your support.

Key details for easy shopping:

Perennial flats require purchases in multiples of 18, in any combination of species.

Some perennials are also available in a 1-gallon size.

Species available while supplies last. If your desired plant is out of stock, please enter your name and email in the “Notify Me” section to be alerted when the plant is restocked.

Trees and shrubs will begin shipping April 1. Forbs and grasses will ship in May. Possibility Place Nursery will notify you when your order ships.

Collecting native seeds is fun! The Lake County Seed Collection Guide is an illustrated guide for seed collectors throughout the Chicago region. The book provides color photographs and descriptions of nearly 600 species of plants in seed, organized by season, habitat and growth form. The guide was designed and written for anyone to pick up and enjoy.
