Through interactive activities and crafts, your child will discover and learn about the plant world, how we are connected, and why it's important for us to take care of them.

Journey through Lake County's unique history by exploring the Dunn Museum galleries, examining rare artifacts, making crafts, and playing historic games. Participants will discover how the area has changed over time by looking at a different time-period each day and hearing the stories of those who lived here.

Explore the watery world that fish inhabit and learn the basic skills, techniques and bait needed to catch them. Each day includes a 1.5 hour fishing session and all equipment is provided.

Drop a line and see if the fish are biting. Learn what fish species live in Lake County and some of their special adaptations. We'll supply the poles, bait and tips on getting started. Our staff will fish alongside you and your family.

Discover the benefits of bringing native plants into your landscape. Native plant selection, basic design and garden maintenance will be discussed.

These live outdoor musical performances begin at 7:00 pm every Tuesday through August 6 at Independence Grove in Libertyville.

In this interactive experience, Kim Sigafus will bring items for audience members to explore, learn more about and have the chance to handle. Participants will learn Native language and music and get the chance to play the drum. Dressed in her native regalia, Kim will continue the program by giving the history of Natives in Illinois with a focus on Native women’s day-to day lives and how they affected the history of the area.
